Bus Hanoi - Halong Bay

Halong is one of the World Natural Heritage, which explains the fascination of tourists everywhere to come visit Halong. Being 170km away from Hanoi capital, Halong Bay is easily accessible.

HOW TO GET TO HALONG BAY ?

There are a lot of way to reach Ha Long Bay:

- Motobikes: Once you are in Vietnam, you can reach basically everywhere by motor cycle, even at the most remote places. This type is the utmost adventurous and thrilling of all. However, it will take slightly longer than other ways to reach Halong and is considerably more tiring.

- Shuttle buses: If you are travelling on your own and want to save cost, taking the bus from Hanoi to Halong can be a good thrill. It will take about 4 hours to reach the pier. This is the most inexpensive transportation to visit Halong Bay. The buses will pick you at your hotel on request and take you to the cruise center in Tuan Chau harbor.

- Limousine buses: If you want a more relaxing car, book a limousine service. The car is only 6 to 8 seats with larger space. Especially, they are point-to-point service so you don’t need to worry about catching a taxi.

- Private transfer: While traveling by shuttle bus you need to share the car with other guests, a private transfer will be customized to your schedule and serve only you. However, it will cost more than both 2 previous ways. 

- Train: There are a train route From Hanoi and Halong city. However, it is not recommended for both domestic and international tourist. The train is old and takes 7 hours to reach Halong station. You’d better look for other ways       

• Route: Yen Vien station (Hanoi) - Halong station (Halong city).
• Travelling time: 7 hours

- Seaplane: This is the fastest way to travel from Halong and also the most expensive way. However, Traveling by seaplane you will get an amazing view of Halong from above which a normal transfer or cruise cannot provide.

- Before leaving the bus, you should check your belongings again and again incase it is picked up by other passangers on bus before we find out

- You can take the day boat to visit Halong Bay. There are 2 ways to reach: 4 hours or 5 hours on boat. If you stay in Halong City, where you can find many budget hotels, motels, and backpacker-style hostel lodgings.  Another option is staying on Cat Ba, one of the larger islands in the bay, which features a variety of affordable hotels. It is so easy to take a ferry from Tuan Chau Habour to Cat Ba Island. You can also choose to stay in the port city of Haiphong and take day trips to explore Halong Bay.
